Numerical simulations of turbulent and flow characteristics of complex river reach in Pakistan

The study included the numerical simulation of a curved open channel flow Chashma Barrage for different velocities along left & right river banks, and water depths downstream reach. physical model was constructed in one experimental trays at Irrigation Research Institute. Different trials were carried out low, medium, high discharges after calibration model. A 2D computational fluid dynamics ANSYS FLUENT software used to simulate various turbulences properties (500,000, 800,000, 957,289 cusecs) using two turbulent models: k-epsilon Reynolds’s stress. findings compared modeling results terms verification. In both velocity (18−27%) depth (18−36%) measurements, k-model had lower average percentage error than RS On verification modeling, total difference from all less 25%. Numerical simulations based on can be better understand turbulence parameters, as well assess develop barrage engineering.

Using a periodic box calculation it is shown that, owing to helicity conservation, a large scale field can only develop on a resistive timescale. This behaviour can be reproduced by a mean-field dynamo with α and ηt quenchings that are equally strong and ‘catastrophic’.
